Labs and Students Support Group

Until January 20:

1. Install Printer HP2200 to Graduate Lab 201(hp1-201 ?) Done 11/01/2006
2. Install Opnet Application Capture Agents to 201 lab ??? postponed until next semester
3. Prepare new programm for epithrhtes
4. Clear local profiles from all lab machines
5. Order maintenance kit for HP1-B123 and HP1-L0 - B123 Replaced
6. Prepare and place 4 new PCs (Fujitsu Siemens) for B101 Done 19/01/2006
7. Set bios passwords for administrator and also user (not to get mac addresses) not possible
8. Check all DLP`s in labs.Done
9. Deny access to domain users to command "getmac" Done 11/01/2006
10. Stop sychronization by some users to Windows machines (sychronize only when they are logging off - NOT always)
11. Find a way to change SID to each PC ??? time-consuming and not really necessary since machines will be reformatted next semester
12. Prepare and replace 4 w/s at B103 tm 14:53, 12 Ιαν 2006 (EET)
13. Replace Norton Anti-virus on CS1993 (room 148) Done 16/01/2006

1. Apply images for lab B103.
2. Update all labs softwares.
3. Rename printers ibmlab1 and npi8585d5

Core Systems Group

Until January 20:

1. Install Print Manager Plus s/w?? or postponed it for next semester

Until May 31:

1. TSM
   • Install 2 HDD (Tuesday Feb. 15)
   • Reconfiguration of policies
   • Include new ultrium drive in set-up
2. Finish with TrendMicro server set-up - resolve some problems
3. Prepare and finalize Server Storage Plan
4. DHCP and DNS server upgrade

Until August 31:

1. Prepare a "new Electra" with IIS etc
2. Format Electra
3. Move Kalliopi to new machine
4. Format Kalliopi and move /research /projects /courses on it
5. Set an internal MYSQL server and move all DBs on it
6. Prepare a new Astarti (www2n)
7. Move most if not all of www2 to www2n
8. Format and prepare Astarti
9. Review and remove old students,faculty,research a/cs

Networks and Security Group

• Revision of the VLAN schedule, primary aim to assign private IPs to most of our systems especially the Research Labs.

31-May-2006

• Wireless network - phase 1

• Properly install and test accees points as they are now without any AA scheme or OS upgrade - good old open way Done --ank 10:44, 19 Απρ 2006 (EEST)

• Test - proper network access, XWIN, printing, E-mail etc. Done! --ank 10:44, 19 Απρ 2006 (EEST)

• Wireless network - phase 2

• Upgrade all access points we use to IOS software
• Decide on the best AA scheme and see that is implimented in a minimum configuration

Radius server running is a must for this phase with NIS capabilities

• Wireless network - phase 3

• See if we can put these access points in a dual VLAN mode so that they work for both the newcampus and zephyros SSID
• Make Radius authenticate via the LDAP server and/or NIS

• Have a departmental VPN up and running

• Security setup

• Redesign some of the network structure to use the DMZ (put DNS, SMTP and WWW servers there).

• DHCP

• Redesign and reconfigure DHCP services (upgrade OS, upgrade DHCP server, failover included)

• LDAP, RADIUS

• Install on permanent location these services (join with DHCP/DNS server???) OTY_Internal:Server Allocation
