Linux

Linux is slowly becoming a de facto standard in our operations. We have standardized on the Fedora Linux distribution which is an open source project from RedHat. In here we provide some information on how to configure and work with Fedora.

It must be mentioned that Linux has become so stable and feature rich that it can be a replacement to the Windows platform.

It will be expected that:

• we will maintain several versions (2-3) of the Fedora distribution for operation
• we maintain our central support/upgrade and installation server
